How long after waking up do you have before eating breakfast?

At the risk of being judged or ridiculed, I usually have my breakfast around 15mins after waking up. Non of this waiting for hours or skipping malarkey!!
No judging, this is what works for you, that's the great part of meal timing is it's all about personal preference. This doesn't work for me, but waiting hours does work perfectly for me.0 -
Wake up at 3-4, gym at 5 and first food is about 9-10, so 6 hours.0
-
Personally, wake up at 5am, coffee at 6am and breakfast at 10am... most days.0
-
I have a cup of coffee first thing when I get up.
That being said I love breakfast and could eat my entire day's worth of calories in the morning. Yep.
My struggle has been how to cut back my breakfast calories. I feel like I am the only one with this problem.
I think I just need to eat my 700 calories in the morning and then skip lunch. I have been playing around with what works for me.0 -

Why would you call this malarkey? This is what works for you; your personal preference. Personally, I find the earlier I eat, the hungrier I am throughout the day, thus my preference is to wait.0 -

This is me as well. I wait 6-7 hours to eat breakfast. I'm just not hungry before then. I do have tea, though.

I know, right?
But if I don't eat it, I am SO HUNGRY I feel sick and have a headache.
IDK, I will be 50 next week and I think I have to just accept the fact I have to eat my large calorie breakfast and try and adjust my lunch/dinner.

I'm not hungry until lunch, so I don't eat until lunch.
I am hungry late in the day whether I eat breakfast or not, so I tend to save my calories and use them when my body is actually telling me to eat instead of forcing down food in the morning when I have no appetite.0 -
I'm glad someone gets that :-). I actually highly recommend Sally's baking addiction whole wheat oatmeal pancakes. I add 1/4c bran to the recipe and they come to 120 cal, 5.5g protein, 4g fibre.
I had raisin oatmeal cookies and milk for dinner just the other night. No regrets!0 -
I can never eat just after waking up. I work in London so I eat breakfast when I get to work.0

About 2 hours after waking.
Weekdays I wake at 7:30 AM and eat breakfast at work between 9 and 9:30 AM.
Weekends I wake around 10:00 AM and eat breakfast at around Noon.
My breakfast almost always consists of an egg, turkey sausage or turkey bacon, and a carb like english muffin, whole wheat toast, or tortilla (pancake or waffle on weekends).0 -
As long as possible unless I am about to go work out and feel I would do better with a meal first. For some reason once I break my fast from the night before I get hungrier. So if I wait I'm less likely to get into the cheese that evening.0

Yeah, I might give it up again for a couple of weeks. I don't need it because I take a multivitamin. I just like it.0 -

This is me as well. No matter if I eat breakfast or skip it, I find my hunger for the rest of the day to be the same. Which means, if I eat breakfast, I have less calories to use later on. So I wait and eat later when I WANT to eat instead of forcing myself to eat because I "have to".

Depends on the day. Sometimes within 30 minutes, other days by noon0

It might be a couple of hours. I tend to wake up at about 5AM and don't like to eat before 7AM.0

Same with me. Mainly due to meds I have to wait an hour before I eat>0 -
I'm in the no-breakfast, intermittent-fasting, early eating makes me nauseous camp. However after not eating breakfast for a long time today I just wanted a bowl of cereal so I had some with blueberries and other fruit for lunch! I won't do that everyday because at l lunch I like to have soup or stew with beans, and a salad. But I suppose once in a while can't hurt!0

Meal timing is a myth like others have said. I wake up at 6:45am and eat around 10-11am depending on the day. This helps me keep my calories in check when I'm dieting down and I sleep better with calories consumer closer to the end of the day.0

You have until you die of starvation to eat breakfast.

And yes, I know people usually mean "morning meal" when they say "breakfast."0 -
I eat breakfast after being up for 15 minutes!0

So usually around 7:30...0

I wake up around 7:30-8am. I really have liked cooking breakfast the past couple mornings, usually we all eat about 3hr. after waking, just to get moving and cook for the family. I admit a little more organization on our part would speed things up.0

I get my coffee at 5am, then I feed animals/do laundry/ etc and usually I remember I haven't eaten by about 11.0

Out of interest to all those who wait at least a few hours after getting up, what time do you eat your last meal the previous day? I try to eat before 7pm so I have basically a 12 hour fast till breakfast. I'm always ravenous0

I work nights so I eat dinner around 11pm... so it's almost the same fasting time you have.0
