Fueling during cycling/triathlon training

I was wondering what all the triathletes here eat during training and on race day? I'm a 70.3 distance "racer" (sub 6hr time) and mainly eat bananas, potatoes, gels, electrolyte drinks, etc during my training and on race day. What do you eat to fuel you during the activity? Has anyone ever tried a high carb weight gainer like Mutant Mass?

I'm not a fan of the taste of most gels. I do however use the cytomax "fresh apple" drink mix often on my longer ride days. I have used quite a few of the recipes within "the feed zone" and "feedzone portables" cookbooks for something easy to make and carry along on rides rather than off the shelf items.
These are quite good too http://www.bicycling.com/training-nutrition/nutrition-weight-loss/power-puff

Thanks wildtxn, I'll have to check out the feed zone, but those macaroons look great.

I'm wondering, the local tri club has had a lot of discussion on ironman fueling.

I know none of them have looked into diy soylent... could that be a solution? It's a liquid food, you can tailor its profile to exactly what you want. Quick absorbing if you build it that way, or longer if that works for you. Can even dose it heavier on your electros, and have it over 32 or 64 ounces, depending on hydration needs.

I've been thinking that might be a good thing to look at.

http://diy.soylent.me is a good tool for building your own recipe. I have a couple on there.
