Cook your own food. Don't put sugar in it. Not being rude, lots of packaged foods have sugar in them.

What medical condition do you have that requires you to stop eating sugar?

I need to completely abstain from sweets. I know from experience, I can't have one of anything sweet. The advice on cooking your own food is right on, too. Keep it simple if you don't know much about cooking (like me). I stick to a fairly simple diet. I'm trying to keep the sugar low, but still get over my goal due to fruit. The only thing I add sugar to is my hot tea, and I limit myself to one teaspoon and one cup of tea per day.

I have a huge problem with sugar. I would buy a bag of gum drops or jelly beans almost every day. My answer, just don't buy anything with sugar. Don't have any in your home and don't stop at any 7/11.

It is easier to cut it out completely. I don't ever bring sweets into my home. Once I have a little I tend to want much more very quickly. It is very rough for about two weeks, and then the cravings stopped.

Now, I have something sweet on rare occasions...like once every month or two...and I enjoy it much more than when I was eating tons of the stuff constantly. Good luck.

Initially, after I did four or five days of protein, lots of fat, and lots of greens, I did not miss the sugar but was still triggered if I saw it. I still make sure it does not come into my home.
Occasionally (once every two or three weeks or so) I have a small sweet out side of the house. Eating it outside keeps me in the habit of not bringing it home.

Don't buy it, or anything containing it. Sorted.

Pretty simple really. Also a bit of restraint and willpower wouldn't go astray

If you don't buy it you can't eat it - the easiest way to avoid eating something you know isn't the best for you is simply to make sure it isn't in the house. Have a couple sweet alternatives (fruit, sugar free syrup etc) if you have serious sugar cravings to make sure you don't cave and run off to the shops to buy a trolley full of cheesecake and candy. It might be rough to begin with but cravings never last forever and after a little while you'll find yourself wanting it less and less.
