Favorite bodyweight exercise?

As much as I love playing with "toys" while working out (hey, what guy doesn't? lol), I have to admit that no weighted exercise, no matter how much weight was used, gives me the same feeling of accomplishment as dips.

Do you have any bodyweight exercises that give you that same feeling? Which ones do it for you?

For me, nothing beats burpees. Full burpees, all the way down in a chaturanga position. Also when coming up from the burpee I like to add different variations (hop squats, plyo jumps, or simulation of a "shoot")

Nothing gets the blood pumping quite like it for me.

Dips, pull-ups are a close second. Weighted ones are even cooler.

I'm a huge fan of working out at the park.

Push-ups, pull-ups, and handstands! Once I can do a one-armed push-up, that will be my favorite.

For the bottom half, "box jumping" up onto benches or picnic tables does the trick.

Palms facing pullups on a tree branch - to failure and then crank a few more out by swinging your feet up onto the trunk to take some of your weight.

Push-ups [or press ups as we call them in the UK], without a doubt.

This is a personal one since as well as doing loads of these in school, I remember a time a few months back when I couldn't do ONE full-body press-up. After my injury in 2010 my muscles had just atrophied. I had to do knee press-ups and work up from there.

Now I can do four sets of 20 full body press ups in a row. Feels great.

Until I'm able to do a pull up I'd have to say burpees and squats in all their varied glory. Personal favorites are the one legged squats and the full burpees with the push-up in the middle and the jump at the end. I'd do suicides but I'm not THAT crazy.

Great topic by the way, I'm losing my gym this summer so I'm collecting good body weight exercises.

    Chin ups.
I'm up to half a one :drinker:

    And dead hangs at 0, 045, 90, 135. 180 degrees.

Would love to do a hman flagpole. I think tht would be the ultimate show of strength.

If a door jam doesn't work, Find a tree. Or playground equipment.

I've a playground five minutes from my house. I couldn't see anything worthwhile last time I looked. I think I'll go back and think creatively.

I did start trying to train to do these - first off using a cuved bar in my local park (so just holding the body a little off vertical and moving it a smidge more horizontal each session) and trying to get in to the position for a second on a bit I could put my upper hand on on top and hold my legs in rather than out.

Haven't had the time recently and dog's had walks in other places.

Also, I'll add that most of the body weight stuff is better with extra weight added.

Been using an 'abroller' standing and that's definitely "noticeable" compared to doing it from on your knees (well, a dumbbell, as I leant my abroller to a friend, though may have to get it back - currently doing the dumbbell against a wall and moving feet back each session.)
