Bananas- do I weigh with or without the peel? (same for oranges etc.)
If it's without the peel and I take it to work in the peel - am i supposed to be weighing it at work out of it's peel? Or skin it before work and weigh... stupid question i know.

Oh, and one more- meat- weigh cooked or uncooked?

Thanks

Meat would be uncooked, and i suppose bananas peeled.

For bananas and apples if I eat them at work I just go with whatever the weight of the last one I ate at home and weighed was, since they're all generally within a few grams of each other. And for meat (and things like pasta) the packet will usually say the nutritional information given is cooked or uncooked, or might give the nutritional info for both, so I'd go for whichever information is given.

If you don't eat the peel then you don't weigh it

I have some oranges right now that are 6 oz with peel and 3 oz without. I log them without.

Meat is a bit confusing... I try to find a cooked weight and use that. I believe the standard method is uncooked...

I only weigh the stuff I eat. So no peel.

I actually got a food scale to use at work. (I work in an office.) Before that I used the postage scale. True story! Anyhow, I'll weigh in peel and then weigh again just the peel. The difference is the weight of the banana that I consumed. Note: now that I'm in maintenance I don't actually weigh every banana. :)

For meat, I think the important thing is that your method of weighing matches your method of logging. If you're using a raw entry - use a raw weight.

I would occasionally weigh the half of a banana I was putting in my protein shakes and they were anywhere from 55 to 70 g without the peel. I now eat a whole banana at work every morning and just count it as a "large banana", which is 122 calories, the equivalent of 120 g. Close enough for me, because I don't have a scale at work and don't really see the need for one there.

Meat should be weighed uncooked unless the entry you're using says it's the cooked weight. I'm not cooking my ground beef separately from my husband's because I think that's ridiculous, so I typically weigh mine cooked. I haven't had any problem doing it that way. I try to pick the cooked entry, but if I can't find one I'll just overestimate. If I log 4 oz raw ground beef, I'll actually weigh out and eat 3.5 oz.
