About to workout for the first time with my Fitbit...

So how I workout is I do 20 mins of warm up cardio, about 30-45 mins of lifting & then another 20 mins of cardio. So do I just start the workout timer & let it run the entire workout or just during cardio? How do you guys do it?

I do it for the whole lot - you'll confuse it with you arm movements otherwise.
You'll notice your heart rate will be raised for a good couple of hours afterwards too. My resting is mid 50s post workout its mid 70s for a while.0
