HELP: Ideas for Indian meal out tonight!

Hi everyone!

I'm going out for an Indian/Nepalese meal out tonight for a friend's birthday and I'm stuck with ideas for what to have :( I'm usually vegetarian but all of their veggie dishes seem to be pretty bland and smothered in cream?

I was thinking of foregoing rice/naan and having dahl or chana masala (with chickpeas) instead?

Any help would be great, thanks!

    I would see if the restaurant has their menu posted online, then check with my fitness pal or google to see the nutritional info for the various dishes they offer so that you can make an informed decision. They might not have that particular restaurant's stats, but they surely will have something comparable to go by. Good luck!

    Also, phone ahead and ask if they can prepare a specific version of a dish. A vegetarian and lentil Balti would be a good option, also, split a Nan as they are usually pretty big. I would avoid popadums if you can. No point in worrying though, going out for any meal should be enjoyed with a bit of sense. Any damage can easily be offset over the remainder of the week.
