Welcome to the world of epidemiology, where any and all of your hypothetical dreams and realties can come true. The research has been there from the beginning but they stuck with their decisions until, I would imagine, to the point they may appear to be complete idiots and incompetent to deny those facts any longer, and now they join most of the world in that decision, brilliantly incompetent I would say.
