Hi! I have been doing a fitness bootcamp 3 times a week for the last three weeks (yesterday was day one of week 4), and I have been having some breakthrough bleeding. This has never happened before, I have always been super regular, even after the births of my children. As of Friday, I have lost 8 pounds total in 17 days, and I have been doing calorie restriction also, about 1350 calories a day. My normal period started the 17th of May, then last week (28-29) I had some spotting after a particularly intense workout, and then again after yesterday's workout I had a bit more than spotting, but it stopped today. Prior to this I was extremely sendentary and overweight for the last 6 years or so after my C-section with complications (probably morbidly obese, but I hid it well) I was about 5'10'' and 220 to start. Any ideas? I know you can stop your period after intense workouts, but I haven't heard of getting them weekly.

I have breakthrough bleeding each month! I get cysts on my ovaries, and they rupture, which causes the breatkthrough bleeding......or at least that's what my OB/GYN told me. I get ultrasounds often, to see if i have any new cysts and if the previous ones are gone. Sometimes I have pelvic pain, sometimes I don't. Not sure if one has anything to do with the other, but just letting you know, I get this monthly!!!! it's annoying!
congrats on your weight loss also!!!0 -
Thank you! I have lost noticeable inches which is nice. The first couple weeks were awful, and I am sore just about every day, but I FEEL healthier now--I just need to figure out why my lady parts are all askew. I thought PCOS ruptures happened with or without exercise, and this is happening specifically after intense workouts (Mostly leg work, the two times also).0

fat stores estrogen. when you start burning fat, the estrogen is released into your system again. an increase in estrogen can cause breakthrough bleeding. however, it would not be happening after a specific workout. you may want to make an appointment with your obgyn.0

Could it just be coincidence that this is happening after these workouts, and just be the estrogen releasing then from burning fat?0
