Trainer Advice

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on buying trainers. At the ripe old age of 58 I've finally decided I have to do some exercise. I'd like to do the C5K;but at the moment I'm just walking a few times a week to get started.

So I'm looking for some trainers I can walk in to start and then jog in in a few weeks time. So far I've just been baffled by the huge range that's available so if anyone can let me know what sort of things I should be looking for.
Regards

David

You can usually find used treadmills for a nice low price. Does kijiji.com have ads in your area? That's where I would start looking.

Go to a store that does shoe fittings. They should have you walk/jog and analyze your gait to see what type of sneaker would work best for you.

    I think he means shoes.

OP, your best bet is to go to a running store in your area and have them fit you. They will watch your gait and can choose the best shoes for you to try on to avoid injury. It might cost a little more than a big box store but an injury costs more!
  • Yes, sorry, I meant shoes.

I think that a visit to Sweatshop in Manchester is probably going to be my best bet. It'snot cclose but I can get a discount from them which helps.
