Advice on recovery and injury prevention - wanting to progress more with lifting

I am a 52 women, who over the past year, has been working with a personal trainer who has helped a lot with perfecting technique, making me more comfortable with using barbells, heavier weights, mastering push-ups etc. However, I'm getting a little impatient with my progress, and while I can't expect to do the same as someone 20 or 30 I want to push myself while also not incurring injuries. On the plus side I have an excellent benefit package with lots of physiotherapy allowed and some massage and chiro. I'm wondering if any of you have used these alternative treatments to complement recovery/prevent injury. Within these disciplines there are so many options it is a bit overwhelming - so if anyone has experience they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated. I have also upped my protein intake but would also appreciate diet/supplement advice too.

Do you have injuries that you are working around? Or are you worried that you will incur injuries if you push yourself too quickly?
By incorporating active recovery, mobility work and properly fueling yourself (along with decent sleep and hydration) you'll give yourself the best possible chance of recovery and staying injury-free. For me, that's Yoga. I also foam-roll/ball-roll to get to the deep hotspots and do some mobility work prior to working out. You have to find something you'll like enough to stick with for long enough to reap the benefits! Deep massage would also work along the same lines if it's available/affordable for you.
Basically, you can still train and progress as you get older, but have to be more careful with the volume you're doing and allow for a bit more recovery time.

Thanks for the advice. Definitely need to work on my sleep - I wake up with the slightest sound.0
