MFP and weight gain

I can see on the news feed that it shows a post when someone loses weight but what about gaining? Does that show anywhere except for how much total weight has been lost? I gained last week and although I don't see a post I do see that my weight lost number has decreased
My fault - I'm moving on because this is a brand new week!

Nope, there's no notification for weight gain. Weight gain might not be as bad as you think. Could be water weight, depending on what you ate the day prior, or water retention from exercise, etc. Just keep logging
I've had weeks where my weight jumped up but went back down plus some the next week. Scale weight is silly like that, sometimes. Look for a trend over several weeks and don't sweat it too much!

They don't do an announcement post for weight gained. Probably because that would discourage people from accurately logging their weight.0

I dunno, when I bulked I was sad I didn't have a notification for it but I could see that. Though, there's an option in settings to turn off announcement of weight loss, so plausibly one could do the same for gain.0 -
Heck no, we'd all quit!0

I was thinking the same thing Liftng4Lis but I have seen the loss results so that will keep me motivated. And someone else said the same thing about water weight - I am pretty sure the chili and then pretzels for a snack last night did not help but I also thought I could cheat a little since I did so well the week before. Ummmm no because my scale said I gained it all back - but lesson learned
Only been doing this a month so I am sure I will learn a LOT of lessons before it's all said and done

By all means, those snacks sound delicious and if they fit in your day, enjoy
Water weight can hold on for a few days but isn't detrimental to true weight loss. I had a weekend where I had quite a bit and for about 3 days I was up about 3 lbs and it slowly trickled off. That's why people typically recommend waiting for a few weeks before looking further into it.0 -
I agree and to be honest because I had lost so much the week before I thought I could cheat more than I should have - so I found out that's not quite the way it works0
