Different calories and settings.

Hi. I was just wondering what makes the difference when entering strength training. I've noticed that if I go and put what someone else has put in to see if it would be the same its way off. Do people just enter it manually. Like I enter under cardio like 45 min strengh training and burn like 140 calories and I see someone else with same time with like 200 more calories. Also I work out at least 5 days a week should I have in my settings slightly active or active. Thanks guys.
