If you came here to find a miracle diet plan, then sorry but you won't find it.

My goal is to lose 1 lb per week. Jan. 19 I started at 187.4 and on Feb. 20 I was 183.8 - that is 3.6 lbs loss. I aim to eat 1560-1660 calories per day and I had chocolate and ice cream EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.!!! What's not to love about that!!!!

I aim to get 7,000 to 10,000 steps every day and I try to get to the gym 3 times per week for strength training, which doesn't always happen. It will be easier once the winter is over :)

Edited to add: I have lost 13 inches also!! :D

Slow and steady wins the race!

Not a "diet" per se, but a sensible approach to weight loss without dieting. Chances are that your maintenance will be doable too. Congrats.

thank you. that is why I said 'diet', I don't really consider this a 'diet' at all, just my life :). Just trying to show those who are looking for quick fixes that it really isn't necessary to starve oneself or cut out certain food groups, etc

Rabbit - it actually clicked into place in January of 2014 and I started off really well. Then in March I had eye surgery and was advised to stop my karate classes for 3 months and I pretty much gave up my strength training also. then the summer came and I decided I was just going to enjoy myself. then September came along and I did not go back to karate but I joined a gym; mid-November I stopped going to the gym. I do ALOT of crocheting and I was working on Christmas gifts (plus I also crochet for charity) and that pretty much took up all my time. I am also known as the Cupcake Queen at work, whenever it was someone's birthday I would take my time to make cupcakes or a cake. I decided this January that I have to put myself first. I still do my crocheting, but usually I'm standing up walking in place with my pedometer on my sock while crocheting lol. I have given up on the cake/cupcake making for awhile.

Lis - my absolute favourite ice cream (well actually it's frozen yogurt) right now is Chapman's Black Jack Cherry - cherry and chocolate ice cream with huge chunks of cherries and chocolate cups that have cherry syrup in them. you gotta try it!!!!

My diary is open if anyone wants to take a peek at what I eat. During the week I pretty much stick to the same foods as it works for me. Suppers are always different. The weekends I'm a bit more relaxed. And you will see that I did actually have ice cream every single day. I'm kinda doing an experiment to show people that they can have treats every day as long as they fit it into their calories/macros.

Great post... if I could summarize it in one word, I would say "realistic." You've clearly developed a sensible new lifestyle that includes eating well and exercising. Like you said, slow and steady wins the race... with ice cream
