How long to rest from running for small knee injury

After my last run a week ago, I have been having pain in my left knee. Almost feels like I pushed a bit too hard and overextended my knee with bad form. No pain during run, but I had pain in it while walking that night and the following days. It's been slowly going away, and I have been sticking to elliptical, bike, and weight training in the mean time. No pain while doing those activities.
ETA: My knee actually feels better when doing those activities and I get moving.
I still have a bit of pain today while walking, but I feel like I could go running with no problem. I'm wondering if I should wait until it is completely gone or if I would be okay taking any easy run today.
