but wtf is up with the leg press? free weights are where the magic happens dude.
How can you look down on the leg press.
Press is awesome.0 -
I hit leg press once every two weeks in order to my muscles under immense levels of stress and create more microtears than usuall, you have to train every micromuscle within a muscle group in order to get the best possible gains, this also scientifically will help me out today; because i trained my legs yesterday, it gives my body the biggest possible testosterone boost that i can achieve naturally, now this rise will be ongoing for around 48 hours so when i train a smaller muscle group like my ARMS today, they will recieve all the growth hormone and testosterone building amino acids that my legs are also, thus making my ARMS grow bigger and quicker than before.... its just BIOLOGY
I know far too many people that only ever do BENCH PRESS for their chest and they push reasonable weight but when you ask them to do a dumbell press, they can only push around 80% of what their potential is, as they never tear the micromuscles and isolate the muscle
but yes my training 90% revolves mainly around free-weights

Agreed Selina!!! haha :P x0

yeah...show me studies, graphs, proof that more muscles are activated on a MACHINE than doing deadlifts and squats.
yes having that rest after the workout is key, but you don't have to phrase it like you're a D-bag.
I'm sure Rippletoe would disagree that the leg press is needed for mass gains.0 -
At what point did i phrase anything like a docuhebag? Im simply trying to give you my advice, if you do not want it, you dont have to take it?
I never said that it works it more im saying that it is best to microtear all muscles in a specific group so that your body becomes more versatile and is stronger in more areas of lifting???
I know that compound lifts and exercises are a necessity in oder to gain mass and strength, they are thee most important forms you can do providing the right technique is used, im jjust saying that I personally shift my workout up every two weeks in order to shock my muscles and body so that it cannot adapt??
Shocking your body and muscles everynow and again means that you will stay anabolic and will stop your training hitting a plateu (the wall)

shocking muscles comes from progressive training. A machine can not be better at muscle activation than free weights, if for no other reason than, the stabilizer muscles are not used when you're using the machine. I'm sure there are other reasons.
Yes, when you phrase it with several words all in caps, and just the tone from the post that you know everything. Of course there's a really good chance i'm over sensitive this morning, but still the all caps is completely unnecessary.0 -
I'm very new to fitness so don't know much at all, but if that's alright~0
-
If i have offended you due to caps lock then i sincereley appologise, i am but trying to help people so if i upset you due to this then im sorry
I get the uses of free weights and machines and their pro's and cons, but i have clearly touched a button that i didnt mean too
no hard feelings?
