I have noticed that when I use a tape measure it shows I have lost 2 inches in each of my thighs but I don't notice a different in the way my clothes fit me. What gives?

How many inches have you lost in your hips and waist? Although there is about 2 inches difference in hips between one pants size and the next, I didn't really see a difference in how my clothing fit until I'd lost probably 3 inches total in hips. I think I was on the "snug" side when i started dieting and there was a looooong period where I was dropping weight but not changing sizes although I guess little by little the fit must have been getting better.0

Remember this is inches in the circumference not the diameter. You've lost about 0.6" in the diameter. I guess what I am saying is that your thighs are not 2" more narrow.
