I'm currently trying to follow a 45carb/35pro/25fat rule, with some give or take on all three macros. So far, it's worked for me to lose weight, although I can't say if this will help you with maintenance, depending on your weight, level of activity and goals (I'm not a nutritionist, just an ordinary Joe). I've got weight to lose, and I'm experiencing fat and inch loss and some muscle gain, which is what I'm going for (halfway there). But I'm sure I'll switch that ratio around again once I reach my target weight/"pant size". For the protein, I try to stick to low-fat sources, such as greek yogurt, lean meats and fish, and protein powder.
