Hibernation and holidays

Trying to ward off effect of too many holiday parties and a stagnant lifestyle brought on by sub zero days and multiple snow storms. Recently found I could no longer button my jeans. A step on the scale confirmed my worst fears. I was up 15 lbs and feeling horrible. Started fitness pal and amped up my workouts. I've been kickboxing for 3 years but what was once a obsession to go now was becoming a necessary evil. I made myself get back into going everyday, often 2 a day classes. I also started curbing my appetite by eating only single servings and making healthier snack choices. In one week I'm down 7 of the 15lbs I put on. I realize rapid weight lose is not a healthy act.... I need pointers in finding an equal balance to maintain weight and good health. I'd appreciate any support and or comments
