I know it's very very slow. But I think it's the only way to make it sustainable.
I challenge myself every week. Two weeks ago, I register to a gym near my workplace. For the last 2 weeks I've started working out there. It's just walking on treadmill, but that's all I can do for now.
I've been logging my food diligently for two weeks, and this week I started to challenge myself to eat little less.
I'm a 33 year old woman, 278 lbs (125 kg) and 5'3 (163 cm).
My goal is to be in my healthy weight on new year's eve 2018.
Need friends with similar goals or anyone who would love to support each other on MFP. Please feel free to add me. Thank you very much.

Baby steps! That is also how I got started, although my goal was a little more aggressive than yours (150 lb in 2 years: 92 gone in 14 months so far).
My first step was to start eating regular meals of "real" food instead of just grazing on whatever.
Next was to lower carbs (I was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago)
Then I started actually counting calories and macros (I discovered MFP 6 weeks after starting)
A couple of weeks after that, I started taking a water aerobics class
Final step was to start walking a few days a week.
Since last summer, I have just been working MFP and building on what I had started.
You are doing it the right way. Setting a conservative, long term goal will greatly benefit you in the long run. You can really get the good habits ingrained, but you also learn how to handle the special occasions much better too. The thought of Thanksgiving dinner will not freak you out as much as someone who is trying to lose 2 lb a week. Finally, it can save yo money. You will only need to replace clothes when it becomes necessary, rather than having to drop lots of money on a new wardrobe every few months. The only things I continuously buy are bras, jeans, and swimsuits (I swim laps in addition to a water aerobics class and hate it when my bewbies pop out of the suit because it is too big)
Good luck!0 -
I love that you set a slow and steady realistic goal. I think a lot of people plan/want to lose weight quickly, and when it doesn't happen as fast as they want they get discouraged and quit.

@earlnabby it's not my first attempt to lose weight. So, I think I know myself better now. am sending friend request now!
@tlblood exactly! I also have so many things going on. I'm working two jobs (I have full-time job and also teaching at the university twice a week), playing music on weekend and taking care my family. I don't want to put to much stress in my endeavor to achieve a healthy weight0
