I play in a band, so I usually listen to the new songs we're learning in a loop, when I'm in the basement lifting. My elliptical is in the tv room, so I put on something from netflix or on demand when I'm doing cardio.

Totally weird, but I like Gangnam Style...LOL
I also used to like (and still do) My Sharona and Eye of the Tiger. What can I say, I'm a tad eclectic...I will listen to anything that has a good beat.

Another good album is from the movie "Mortal Combat"- tons of high-energy techno...

    -Kendra

that's on my ipod too! lol

    AUDIO FOR MY RUNS:

    > (1) This American Life Podcast w Ira Glass.

Love them -- I cry and laugh while I run...

    > (2) NPR - anything from Car talk to Diane Rehm to Science Friday

    Always learning something from NPR...

    > (3) Elvis Duran Morning Show

When I'm too tired to think.

    > (4) Jerky Boys from the '80 (prank caller guys)

Dug them up on itunes a few weeks ago and I nearly tripped bec I was laughing so hard.

    > (5) Self-help audio books (Wayne Dyer books, etc.)

Need all the help I can get!

Whatever is playing on the Box's system. It's so loud it's pointless to try and have your own music LOL.

I learned the hard way that Rob Zombie is not what I want to listen to when I am jogging, alone, at night!

I like to listen to my thoughts and the sound of my breathing. I totally self-absorb. No music required for motivation.

It's not everyone's cup of tea, but my workouts are just for me.

Let me preface my post by saying that I am a geek, so I am going to share with you what I do. It's not hard and creates some good music to listen to when I am running or working out. I found a free program called BPM Analyzer (link below):

    http://download.cnet.com/MixMeister-BPM-Analyzer/3000-2169_4-10290906.html

I analyzed my entire music collection using this free software and then I setup Smart Playlists in Itunes for different BPM ranges. I have 80-100, 100-120, 120-140, 160+ .

I read about this on some post somewhere and have used it for about two years now. Hope this helps someone else.
