Gaining muscle

Hey guys just looking for some general info/opinions on how to train and eat to gain muscle!
I'm at 20 year old female who has always had a very very small build, always bullied for my weight and told by people I have an eating disorder.
I don't want to take in to the extreme of fitness competitions or anything like that, but I would like to build a lot more muscle and look super tonned. No really sure where to start, a lot of info online is directed at males, and I'm not sure if that also applies to females.
Would really appreciate any info, opinions, personal experiences etc.
Thanks in advance guys

I don't see why the advice for women would be any different from that for men. Lift weights, eat lots of protein, make sure you're getting enough calories every day.0

To piggyback on this, you will need a slight surplus in your calories. Aim for .8g/lb of lean body mass for protein. After, pick things up and put them down.0 -
If building muscle is your goal it's best to keep protein at about 1g per lb. Eat mainly healthy foods and also have something with protein. Lift heavy 4-5 times a week and do minimal cardiovascular (once or twice a week keeping it under 20 min) and make sure your eating at least 200 calories ver maintance. After about a month of doing this you should start seeing some really good pogress.muscld growth takes time. So just keep at it and always increase Cal as you gain weight.0
