Ok I posted earlier asking if it was possible to lose 15 pounds in 3 months. I got a lot of feedback and advice so I wanted to sort of narrow down some of that feedback. A lot of people said to eat more protein. I rarely, if ever, eat meat. That is something that I can't change. Also, I would like to know if it's bad to eat less than the 1200 calorie limit? I just don't eat that much when I'm busy or working.

You can get protein from lots of sources. Google high protein foods!

It is not great to eat under the 1200 calorie limit, especially regularly. Every body is different, so you will not literally be malnourished at 1150 but perfectly well at 1200+. And if you ate 1200 worth of soda and nothing else, you'd end up malnourished. However, in general, for women, 1200 is the minimum recommendation to make sure your body is getting at least acceptable nutrition.

You don't want to lose too much muscle (you will lose some), you don't want to mess with your skin or hair etc. So part of being healthy and looking healthy is, in fact, eating enough.

That said, if a lot of your foods are estimated (coming from restaurants, cooked by somebody else, not weighed) then you could very well be eating more than you think, so you wouldn't want to start eating a lot more without improving your logging first. If you think your logging is pretty accurate, I'd aim for 1200 min or thereabouts.

I agree. I get busy working and forget to eat but it is important to eat those calories because your body needs the nutrients for muscle growth and repair, organ health, and for burning calories. You will probably burn more calories by eating 1200 or more a day because your body will have more energy. There are lots of protein/fiber bars that are easy to place in a purse or work drawer for those busy days. Protein shakes, almonds, humus with some healthy crackers, boiled eggs are great ways to get protein too. Good luck.
