If I had to do it again I would opt for the Charge HR and save the extra $$$ for the GPS. Using the GPS kills battery life down to just 5 hours of use in a day. I am also leery of the new HR technology. I have seen some folks it has worked for, but if you check the Fitibit forums there is a group of us that can't seem to get it to work properly. I have been working with Fitbit since I got mine the beginning of the year and I am just now getting it swapped out for a new unit because they believe mine might be faulty.

Couple other things I was underwhelmed with are the touch sensitivity on the screen and the illumination of the screen. Make sure to go see one in person to see if it is bright enough for you. It is not easy to see in either full sun or in the dark the back light is VERY weak.

I had a Force, which is essentially the Flex, and I LOVED it, so that or the base model Charge is what I would say for you to check out.

I can vouch for the Flex. I've had one since July of last year, and it's been great. If I had to go back, I MAYBE would have gotten the Fitbit One, as I don't always want to wear it on my wrist and I've had to replace the band once already, but otherwise I have nothing negative to say about it.

Bought it. Returned it. Too big. Looks like a giant man's watch.
