I'm a single mom as well- I have some equipment at home I bought on CraigsList, a bosu ball, resistance bands, weights between 5-25 lbs. I like the 30DS but there are a ton of youtube work outs you can look for. I found that at home was good supplement to my program, but I had the most success at a gym. I found one in my neighborhood that had daycare and went there for over a year with my little guy. I am fortunate now to have a gym at my office so I can go at lunch while my son is in school.0

I raised my children alone; twenty years. I suggest you sneak exercise in where you can.
- Wear a step counter
- Take the stairs
- Park farther away when you shop
- Do a HIIT routine; fifteen minutes
- Find a mom and tot routine where you can include the children
- Walking is free and can be done anywhere

Some exercises I find impossible due to having a sticky out *kitten*, like squats totally not an option. Press ups are not possible cause of my boobs. Also mother and baby things are fine with one child and also if you drive as where I live there's nothing about x0

if u can't do certain things at this point then don't. just do what u can. anything is more than nothing. if the weather is nice go for walks. sometimes thats enough for the first few months if u have quite a bit to lose! focus on diet if u can't completely focus on exercise. diet will make the biggest difference anyways0

30 minutes walks are easy to do. Weight loss occurs in the kitchen and exercise is for health.0

Jump rope or hula hoop or ride bikes with the kids. Also kicking or tossing a ball around is fun too. I used to sit on the floor with my kids and we would roll a ball between us. We would sit with our legs spread foot to foot and build an "arena". I got lots of stretching in and the kids had fun.0

I you tube beginners yoga and used to do it before bed once kids were asleep. Not hardcore but it helped with sleep and being more flexible. Where abouts in the UK are you?0

Also dancing around the house with the kids, there are a lot of dance dvds that you can be silly with the kids.0

Hmmmm. There's lots of exercises I have to modify because of my weight and weakness. There's only one plank I can do, for instance. So are you busy finding more things you can't do, or can you switch to finding opportunities?

Mom and tot exercise I was thinking more along the lines of putting up a Youtube and welcoming your children to join you.0 -
My children are both under 3 so does my make things a little difficult. Especially with no support. I do dance around like a fool a lot to entertain them. I wouldn't say I was unhealthy really or unfit just everything is a bloody nightmare. My sticky out bum puts pressure on my back making yoga type activities awkward too =[. I use a powerspin when the kids are playing and I find that helps, I also do exercises on the wii fit when I get the chance xx0

I hear you; I do. I once had two under three as well. As you say, with a little fun you can add a lot of bounce in your day.
Believe me, I've got sticky out parts all over too. I must modify moves, all moves, to accommodate. But I still do it.0 -
When both my kids were small (mine were 3 years apart, though, so not quite so challenging), and my now-ex-husband worked constantly so it was pretty much just me, this is what I did to lose 30 pounds.
1. Fidgeting. Seriously. Studies have found that people who fidget when they sit and stand, like bounce one leg, play with a pen, tap their leg with a hand, tend to boost their metabolism and burn more calories during the day. So I deliberately start fidgeting more when I was still for a while (when I wasn't so exhausted I had to just lie there and try not to die).
2. Dancing - I danced with everything and anything. Doing dishes, putting away laundry, walking with the kids, putting away toys with the kids (got the to dance and try to do it, too, at least the older one).
3.Carried my youngest around constantly - great workout.
4. Watched what I ate more carefully.
5. tried to get enough sleep - it can have an effect, although getting sleep with two itty-bitties is nearly impossible, I know!
But that was it. Lost 30 pounds in a few months.
Honestly...just hugs, hon. Taking care of the little ones at these ages is hard work enough!! I hope that you are able to lose weight if you wish, but I hope you don't beat yourself up over it if it doesn't work, because you have SO much on your plate right now, it sounds like.0 -
Haha they sleep fine but I never have so that probably doesn't help. Thanks for being supportive x0
