I am 5'1 and overweight. most people my height are around 110-120. personally I know I wouldn't want to be 120 but 125-135 would be a great place for me to be. I am also in the military so I need to pass my Physical Assessment by July which will be a lot easier without all this weight to lug around. I am in desperate need of support and motivation because I consistently give up after a day.

Hi,
I am a little under 5'1! And as you know it is very are to keep our weight down because we are so short. Currently I weigh 130. My heights weight has been 140 lb and my lowest before I became pregnant with my daughter in 2011 I was 115 lb. Personally I find to be the most happy at 120-125 lb! My best advice to you would be to walk for 30 minutes a day. If you have a treadmill that has programs built into it use them!!! Some of the weight loss also comes from diet. I try to keep my breakfast light, for example a piece of toast with peanut butter and a banana, or a piece of toast with peanut butter and Greek yogurt. I use ground turkey in place of ground beef.
I find myself starting and stopping as well because life gets busy. But the small changes over time really leads to developing good habits. Yoga has been my exercise of choice because it allows me to find who I am while getting a workout and strengthening!
I hope this helps and best of luck to you!0 -

I know nothing about being this height as I'm 5'10 so I have a bigger margin of error to work with and I do not have a petite frame, but I can tell you no matter your height or weight, if you want to lose it's about 80 - 90% diet and 10 - 20% working out. It's calories in vs. calories out. You will need to train and work out because you're looking to pass a military physical but weight loss itself comes what you put in your mouth. Working out helps because it allows you to a) have more calories to play around with while you're netting the same and b) develops muscle which can (emphasis on can) increase your metabolic rate over time.
Good luck0 -
I started out pretty similar. I'm 5' and was a little over 150 lbs at my heaviest; I am currently at 117. I'd be happy to support you, and I could always use a little extra motivation myself!0

Hello, I came across your post because I am on the same boat. Im 5' and currently at 146 pounds. I gained most of my weight after having my boys and I also blame it on birth control.
Before my children I was a gym rat and always dedicated my time to working out. Now, its a bit harder to find time with so much going on!
In the past I have joined a 30 day challenge with a girlfriend that was a coach. You can get lots of motivation in a group! Try it out!
Less calories and 1 hour of something active!! Try circuits! There are good videos on youtube. I love to dance so I do ZUMBA for an hour at home.
Thats my goal at this time! I am on a mission too. My deadline is to be at 125lbs.by Easter!!
Im so tired of being over weight. We can definitely notivate each other on here too!
Good luck!!

Greetings! I'm 5'2" and prior Air Force...so I'm very hip to military standards. Add me if you want a friend who's a cheerleader-type, who will also give you a gentle kick in the butt as needed.0
