ive been eating close to 1200 calories a day for a month...scale will not budge. I'm being completely honest in food tracking weighing it and all. Zero movement. For months before I was eating anything and not gaining now I'm super diligent and not losing. I'm 45, exercise 5 days a week, walking and riding. What is going on? Very very frustrated!

Have you considered that you aren't eating enough?0

I agree with Pips...you probably aren't eating enough. If you're eating 1200 calories and working out, burning 400 calories a day (just estimating), that's only a net of 800 and your fat is holding on for dear life. Try 1600 for a week, no other changes, and see if that makes a difference.0

I agree with the above ladies ^^0

I wish I had the answer. Are you eating your exercise calories back? Have you really been honest about your caloric intake? Are your clothes fitting better if they are then you are losing inches. Don't give up I am sure someone with a more experience than me will answer your question. I dont' get on the scale because it always frustrates me but when I can fit a pair of jeans that were tight two weeks ago it was all worth it. Good luck.0

What is your height and weight?0

Would you be willing to open your diary for us to take a look?
Other than that, and taking a stab in the dark, options are that either your BMR is below the norm (in which case you should see a doc and get checked out) or if you're eating back any exercise calories those might be overestimated enough to wipe out your deficit.0 -
Hi, i am having problems with the scale too. The difference with me is that I have not been exercising and I think my problem is eating too many carbs.
Anyone have suggestions for low carb recipes?0 -
As far as food is concerned, make sure you are using scales to weigh out servings rather than measuring or eyeballing. You'd be surprised how much you can underestimate what you are eating. Don't use any generic or 'homemade' entries in the database. i.e. use the recipe builder to put in your own recipes so that you know precisely what you're consuming.
With exercise, MFP and some machines can overestimate calories burned, so go conservative and eat back half of your exercise calories.
Finally, neither of you ladies have a lot to lose, so look for small losses. I can get away with around 2lbs a week, but then I have 200lbs to lose! Also remember that the weight didn't go on overnight, so give it time.
Good luck!0 -
Someone posted this in another thread, and it really illustrates how wildly off you can be with intake if you're not weighing your food.
Worth a watch
