For the past three weeks I have been healthy eating and exercising regularly with almost 1 stone lost. But this week I have fallen off the wagon and just can't get back motivated. I've gone from the gym every other day and swimming twice a week to nothing at all. If someone could help, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

What caused you to stumble? Do you have anyone to help keep you accountable (in person, like a gym buddy?)

It's hard to stay on track when you've failed before (not saying you have, but I have) so I can understand the lack of motivation.

It all comes down to how badly do you want change? If it's a big goal for you, you have to work through the pain. I FORCE myself to go to the gym, kicking and screaming sometimes, and I ultimately feel great afterwards.

You can do it. Good luck!

My gym buddy has just been in hospital so the thought of going on my own is demotivating me I think.
Thank you, I guess tomorrow is a new day. I want my goal badly so I guess I will have to put the effort in, kicking and screaming too haha

Think about how bad you will feel if you don't do it? Doing it is hard. Wasting time, no results and regretting it is harder.

Do you have a dog? Maybe since your workout partner is not available, you can try changing up your exercise from working out to getting out for a walk. Dogs are great motivators to get you out walking.....

Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. Pick your hard. Sometimes if you get ready in your exercise gear it is second nature then to work out. Go to the gym but promise yourself you can come home if you still don't want to do it. Once you get there you will probably do it. No one ever regretted working out.

So last night I did not have any motivation at all to go to the gym which is unlike me since I hate missing a workout. I really forced myself to go to my spin class and was really glad I did. I felt so much better.

I know it can be really hard when your workout buddy is gone but maybe you can try a class. That way you have something planned and you can't walk out in the middle of the class. Good luck!

Set short term goals. You are making progress. Don't give up!

Find a workout you enjoy. I have always dreaded working out but it's probably because I never stuck with it long enough to gain strength and endurance. I am gaining a love for walking so I am sticking with it. As a supplement I do workouts I see on tv and the Internet. If they are doing something I don't want, I freestyle during that time. Simply put, find what works for you. Best wishes!
