I'm on my 2nd week losing weight. The 1st week I lost almost 11lbs. Monday morning my one week anniversary I gained 2 lbs. this morning I'm up again, only .2 but still not losing. What could be causing this? I'm doing the same thing as last week.

11 pounds in one week is insane, and was likely just a lot of water weight. Try not to get hung up on daily numbers, your weight will fluctuate quite a bit. As long as what you're doing is healthy.. keep doing it! Just don't expect to lose 10+ pounds each week. The standard "healthy" rate of loss is .5-2 pounds a week.

You didn't gain it all at once.. you're not going to lose it all at once either.

This plus a million. That first "woosh" was water weight and you can easily fluctuate up to 4-5 pounds based on your workout routine, particularly if you are lifting. You can also fluctuate based on monthly cycle and hormonal changes. Keep at it and you will probably see a new loss next week. But it will more likely be in the mentioned 0.5-2 pound range.

I don't expect to lose that much each week, or get even close I just didn't think I would be gaining. I can even understand staying the same. Thank you for your feed back.

It takes time. Such a big loss your first week may have been a lot of water weight. This is not a short term journey. My weight varies 3 pounds up or down daily! Its just how it goes. Stick to your program if you are eating with a caloric deficit you will lose weight. Obsessing over the number on the scale daily is just giving you reasons to be stressed, upset and "rationalize" that if the "diet" isn't working so you might as well go for hot wings and beer. hahahhaha good luck, stay the course, it is all mathematics it's as easy as that. Until the brain, pms, stress, emotions, and addictions factor in LOL

So you've lost 9 lbs in 2 weeks? That's nothing to be upset about. Weight fluctuates. Sometimes you'll be up, sometimes down and sometimes the same. You need to look at it over a longer period of time than day by day or week by week.

I can gain over 5 pounds during TOM, or if I've eaten salty foods. Keep your eyes on your overall trend and awesome weight loss and you'll notice the numbers start moving down again the near future.
