Menu for tomorrow...can you help?

ok, I feel ravenous tonight but I have been determined not to go over my daily limit of 1860 calories.

So, tomorrow I am working from 11:22 to 21:00. I have an early break at work at 12:30 and I won't get dinner until 21:30.

So I planned to have 2 poached eggs on two slices of wholemeal toast for breakfast.

Then for lunch a marmite sandwich, a tin of mackerel in sweet chilli oil and a slice of bread to soak up the juice.

Then snacks - sunflower seeds and a few unsalted cashews.

My wife said she will probably make a lasagne tomorrow for dinner and save me some for when I get home.

However, all of this will take me about 150 over my calorie limit for the day.

Can anyone suggest a low calorie easy food I'm missing that would fill me up more?

I know the lasagne is quite calorific but I'm so looking forward to it as a treat. But a marmite sandwich and a tin of mackerel for lunch just doesn't sound like it will keep me going for 8 hours even with my above snacks between trains.

I've had an immensely hard day today...really struggled.

Strange really because this Monday I hit the lowest weight I've been for about 10 years! Maybe psychologically my brain is saying...go on eat some more!!

By the way, I know there is quite a lot of bread in there. I have lost weight successfully whilst eating bread so far and have chosen not to cut it out. Normally at breakfast I just have two hardboiled eggs with no bread at all.

Thanks

BFM

Eat the lasagna and walk a couple miles and burn it off or eat 150 calories less tomorrow.

Your ticker says you have 6 lbs left to go - is that correct? Has your goal been aggressive, like 2 lbs per week? If so, maybe you have been struggling because you need to ease off a little?

If you are keeping to a large deficit, being over 150 cals for one day is no big deal, you'll still be in a deficit.

Honestly I find I can go several weeks meeting my calorie goal just fine, and then for whatever reason I am starving and just eat maintenance for a few days. Then I can go back to my lower calorie goal and be fine. Just something to think about...

Anyway, I agree with Primrose, can you take a brisk walk or something like that? Earn back those cals and enjoy all the food you have planned!

Yeah that's a lot of not filling food in your day... way too much bread, plus whatever marmite is (I had to google it) = a lot of not filling calories. If you're dead set on having so much bread, ditch the marmite and put some veggies and meat in the sandwich.

For what it's worth, I can't eat the same thing I was eating when I was losing weight because I'm hungrier now and it doesn't fill me up as much anymore, even with more total calories.

Move more to earn more. Run stairs at lunch, park farther from your office, do squats after you pee.

Have porridge for breakfast, made with water and honey - 300

Have an egg salad sandwich for lunch - with extra salad / veg to munch on 400.

Get a 0% Greek yogurt and berries for snacks -150

Leaves 1000 calories for your lasagna even without exercise

Have a smaller portion of lasagna, and add a salad or other vegetables to fill you up. As long as you don't put a lot of dressing and toppings on the salad it should contain very few calories.

I like to fill up with vegetables because they have few calories so I can eat a ton of them.

    1. Get more vegetables or fruit in your day.
Eat a piece of fruit with breakfast or for a snack.
Skip the marmite sandwich and have a big salad with your mackerel and bread.

    2. Eat a smaller portion of lasagna with a big salad.

    3. Change nothing and accept going over one day or exercise off the extra calories.

Easy- 1 piece of toast for breakfast with your 2 eggs after all you have 3 pieces of bread at lunch.

Have you considered changing your name because at 6lbs from goal you are no longer a bored fat man!
