What does your ElIiptical say about you?

The one I use gives me an estimate, I use a low setting, still no incline, and burn a little over 200 calories in 20 minutes. I go for the longest strides possible. Just wanted to throw in my newbie stats. I was a bit overwhelmed reading how awesome everyone is doing compared to me.
I started with no resistance or incline years ago. It takes time to get better. :flower0 -

When I first started the elliptical back in Jan 2013 I also did no resistance and incline and after 10 minutes my hip was killing me!! It does take time. You'll work up to it! Go for it and just continue doing what you are doing!0 -
I use two different ones. My home model doesn't give a calorie burn. The one in our work gym gives me about 20 kcal/min which is a total lie. The closer-to-correct answer is more like a net burn of 9 kcal/min.0

I feel like my treadmill workout is so much more intensive yet I burn a fraction of the calories compared to the elliptical.
Anyone else see a big difference in calorie burn?0 -

First off, let me apologize for being a grammar nazi earlier. I don't know what came over me.
I started off mainly on the eliptical, but have switched to treadmill. I'm with you, the treadmill is much harder, but does seem to burn fewer calories. I find upping the incline helps.
I definately feel the treadmill more the next day than I did the eliptical though!0 -

Aw that's okay. I hate to misspell. Btw, it's e-l-l-i-p-t-i-c-a-l. Two Ls.
Right now, I set my treadmill to 12 (max incline) and high knee jog as if I were jogging the bleachers then alternate with 0-incline for 1/4 mile. Still less caloric-burn. So it says.0
