Quicker than expected loss?

hi, been doing mfp for 18 days now with my wife and am losing weight faster than I thought I would. Over eleven pounds in that span of time and while I feel great and my wife and friends all notice a difference I honestly expected the rate of loss to slow down after the first several pounds. But with my caloric intake settling around 2500 on work days (I have a physical job) and around 2000 on my off days I am going through each day feeling just fine. I only just get hungry right before meals and I snack in cases where my lunch is delayed or I just feel like snacking. Honestly weight loss or not this type of eating has been the best thing to happen to me in years, I feel great and have a lot of energy compared to being constantly bloated and tired. My posture has improved and I no longer ache and feel fatigued in the middle of the day and I doubt 11.4 pounds accounts for all that. It just feels like a better way to live. Should I absolutely take in more caps and slow my roll or should I stick with eating enough to feel satisfied as I do now?

Since it's only been 18 days I wouldn't worry about it. Your losses will probably slow in the next week or two. If not, then you can start raising your calories a little at a time until you lose at the pace you want.

It's normal to drop initial water weight. It will slow, so just keep doing what you're doing. Great job!

I think it may depend on how much you weigh now and what your goal weight is. The more you have to lose the faster it comes off at first. Knowing that you are losing you can always test your diet for a week by eating 1 or 200 more calories a day. You will probably still lose weight. If not just go back. MFP is just a tool to help and may not always be accurate. I've been doing calorie tracking for exactly the same number of days as you and I have lost 5 pounds. I don't have much to lose so I don't feel guilty eating slightly more than MFP says.

Thank you all, I did expect the first few pounds to come off quick. I typically fluctuate in weight by five pounds or more either way over short periods. My starting weight was 265 at 6' tall and somewhat muscular. My goal for the time being is 225. My previous low point was 230ish while working at a moving company. Moving tens of thousands of pounds a day up and down two or three flights of stairs tends to lean you out some no matter how much you eat.
