Obsessed with food!

I have lost over 75 pounds this past year and while my relationship with food has improved, I still find myself to be somewhat obsessed with it. While I am able to control myself around it better, I often spend a lot of my time thinking about it.

For example, I am constantly planning and thinking ahead about what I get to eat next, how many calories it is, how much of it I can eat, how can I work a treat into my day, ect. When I go out I am constantly flipping over products or looking at menus to see calorie counts. I spend large amount of time thinking about food. I am starting to wonder if I am borderline obsessed with it. I am a foodie and food brings me a great deal a pleasure,(I won't deny that) but I am wondering if my love of food is too extreme.

Is this normal or could I have an unhealthy obsession with food?

    Congratulations on the loss.

I do that as well. but to lose weight, it's necessary right now. I'm hoping that eventually it will be second nature and I won't have to plan watch and weigh.

I am in the same boat. I am a former fitness competitor. I go to the gym every day in order to keep my cravings at bay. I think about food ALL the time. I find that the best way to stay on top of it is to record all of the calorie content and think about what I'm eating.
I just recently acquired Fit Bit and it just may be the best purchase I've ever made for my fitness goals.
When I see a girl in good shape and she says "I eat whatever I want and moderation" that definitely doesn't apply to everyone.
    Good luck!

I am the same way! I will look at people in shape and see them eating basically anything they want in 'moderation' and they are able to do this without (seemingly) having to obsessed about it. I would love to be able to get a point like that, but for now I think I need to keep tracking my intake or my eating might get out of hand.

I used to use a fitbit but have not kept up with it lately. I am trying to get into a more regular exercise routine so I might look into getting one and keeping up with it again. It definitely helped to motivate me.
