Why are you sneaking in a snack? I'm a huge fan of movie concession stands!0

Popcorn~0

Yeah me too, but I am on a mission. I want something healthy....0

Cute dog .. almost as cute as mine
Diet soda and air popped popcorn
Or here's a trick .. don't snack .. it's mindless and you don't actually need to eat in the 90 minutes or so you're watching a movie .. just take a drink0 -
I was thinking Almonds.....but I am with you, I will miss my Sour Patch Kids.0

omg....I love your dog !!! mine is my baby...lol. Good idea on the not eating.0

Diet Coke and Candy Floss. A 50g bucket of Candy Floss is only 200 calories. It also feels like a lot if you are just nibbling it as well. :-) Enjoy the film.0

Eat a healthy meal or snack before you go and then you won't need to snack at the theater. I went to a movie a couple of weeks ago and didn't have anything while I was there because I ate before I went in. If you need something, take a bottle of water or flavored water.
BTW...my dog is cute too!0 -
I've never heard of Sour Patch Kids - but it's 375 calories for a 40g bag
can't you afford that?0 -
I eat before I go and just get a water. Or I eat super good all day so I can get a small popcorn.0

Good idea Petunia......I am still curious what Candy Floss is though...lol0

Popcorn w/o extra butter or salt is a reasonable snack! It's 200kcal per serving. It's also a good source of fiber (4g/200kcal), has some good fats, and is lower in sodium (1mg/kcal) and sugar and saturated fats and trans fats. I'm a frequent moviegoer and almost always partake.

Also remember, lifestyle change, not diet.. and you control your portion.

I try not to eat anything either. We usually do dinner and a movie so the eating takes care of itself. What is candy floss? However on those days when it is just movie I do have a small popcorn0

I feel like movie theater popcorn is part of the whole experience. I went to the movies Monday night and shared a medium popcorn with my companion - I logged it and didn't go over my calories
Another thought might be a hot pretzel with a little mustard.0 -
"According to AMC, a small popcorn contains 225 calories. In fact, the small AMC popcorns that we bought weighed about 50 percent more than the company claimed. Our AMC smalls contained 370 calories ."
so less than your sour kid thingamijiggs0 -
It depends on what time I am going to the movie. If I do get a snack I usually just get the Kid's pack that has a small drink (I get a Diet Coke) and a very small serving of popcorn. It's enough to take care of my movie popcorn craving without blowing my daily calorie allotment.0

If I don't feel like making the nachos grande fit into my calories, I always bring a pack of beef jerky or dill pickle rice cakes.
Why not popcorn? Not a fan. YES I AM WEIRD I KNOWWWW
If they had Chicago mix though, daaaaaaayum.
OH and I usually get a big ol' glass of wine too! Cause, duh!0 -
Growing up going to the movies was a treat, we didn't get popcorn and snacks too.....
Its 2hrs....
But you can sneak in whatever fits in your purse and fits in your calories0 -
I don't buy the concession stuff because I'm a tightwad, and $7.50 for a small bag of popcorn just kills me. But occasionally with my little movie club card thingy I get a coupon for a free small popcorn, or one for $2, and in those cases I usually eat about half of it, sharing the rest with whoever is with me.
Otherwise I'll take a serving each of raw almonds & ark chocolate chips in a little snack bag.
Or go without snacks altogether, and hit California Pizza Kitchen or In-N-Out Burger after the movie.0 -
A ziploc bag of Skinny Pop popcorn fits nicely in a big purse. Our Sam's Club has a huge bag for like $4-$5. Yummy good..even my kids like it. I always let them get the real popcorn at the movie (too good not to have once in awhile!!). I'll have a handful or two of that, then switch to my skinny pop if I don't have the calories for lots of the buttery movie goodness.0

By the way....I love cotton candy, I have just never heard it call candy floss before. I think I like that better.0
