I've had a headache for the past few days that's bounced between a low grade headache and a full blown migraine. I had a couple binge days last weekend for the first time in almost two months (and drank alcohol) and I think that contributed to it.
I've taken Advil, motrin and ibuprofen (on different days), ate green apples, drank coffee, drank a lot of water, nothing is working.
Any tips?

This isn't really a medical community. If you have a health concern like that, you'd be best off asking a doctor and not posting the question here. It really could be any number of things.0

I think it's connected to binging/alcohol after being on a steady plan for almost two months, and I figured if anyone had any nutrition tips and experienced the same thing they could help0

If it is bad and has lasted several days, go to urgent care or the ER.
The best home cure I have found is to take Excedrin with a container of full-sugar Gatorade.0 -
If I catch a headache early I find tubbing lavender oil on my temples helps0

Have you been diagnosed with migraines or seen a neuro for them?? Many women in my family suffer with them, all differently. Mine are hours, my sister for days. We can be triggered by weather changes.
I would say the alcohol shouldn't affect you for days unless you are indulging for days.0 -
Thanks guys- if it doesn't go away by tomorrow I'll go see a doctor. (but I'll try the sugary beverage and temple rubbing first, i hate doctors!)
I haven't been diagnosed, I've seen neurologists for other reasons but they have never prescribed me anything as my migraines only come once a month or once every two months, they just last for a while. Since I've been eating so much better, I haven't had one and figured it must be related to my diet lapse this weekend.
I wonder if sodium might be the culprit? I definitely overdid it on the salt this weekend, it may have triggered it.0 -
When I get bad headaches I take a caffeine pill and try to sleep it off. Most over-the-counter medications are really bad for treating headaches unless they are tension headaches.0

Sometimes I get headaches that stick around for a few days, and what works for me is lots of water + rubbing my shoulders & neck + extra sleep. I agree that if it's migraine severity and it's not going away you need to call your doc.0

Ice packs on the back of your neck can help migraines, but if yours are lasting this long, you really need to see a doctor.0

Could be your electrolytes are off balance from the alcohol. Magnesium, potassium, sodium. They are your friends.0

I didn't read any of the replies. But I get sinus headaches ALL the time that occasionally turn into migraines. I use a cold compress on my forehead and it helps. Vicks vapo rub helps too, especially when I'm going to bed. If it becomes a full blown migraine, then I have to take something. The only thing that has worked for me is Advil Migraine.0

Yep, that is why Gatorade helps. Hydration is key for me--not enough water and my headaches start up again.

FYI- those 3 medications are all the same thing (ibuprofen as the active ingredient). Be careful not to take too much of it in one day.
Anyways, I would recommend ice packs and Excedrin (acetaminophen as the main ingredient)0 -
Hydration, cold compress and ice pack, rest and water totally helped, thank you everyone! but it's also a few days in, so my migraine might just be dissipating at this point. I am still going to see a doctor though just in case!0
