Iron deficient and in need of vegetarian options

Hey everyone, new to the dieting game and in need of some tips. The title pretty much says it all. I'm low in iron and in need of vegetarian options!

    spinach, kale, chard other green leafies remember to add some sort of food high in vitamin C like lemons or strawberries to help increase the absorption of the iron from the leafies. Try cooking with cast iron if you cook with something acidic like tomato it will help increase the iron content. Some nuts like almonds. Try a fortified nut or grain milk. Dried fruit. Even baby rice cereal mixed in with something.

    What do you eat for protein? Beans are a good source of iron.

    White beans are also a pretty good source of calcium.

    Black Strap Molasses
    Dried Apricots
    Cinnamon
    Lima Beans
    Black Eyed Peas
    Black Beans
    Dark Chocolate
    Pumpkin Seed
    Sunflower Seeds
    Cooked Spinach
    Sun Dried Tomatoes
    Tofu
    Prune Juice

    Etc. Google for lots of lists.

    You can also look at low-dose iron supplements. They're OTC in the US. I take a 27mg supplement most days with an orange because the Vitamin C helps make sure it gets absorbed.
