Toned Tummy Quickly Please!!!

So I have always been pretty fit, but in the last couple of months, I gained almost ten pounds, mostly to stress eating and lack of schedule because life was just a little bit crazy for a while. I have lost most of it off again, but I just can NOT get rid of my tummy! I have never really had a tummy, and I am soooo frustrated with myself. I am already running 2 miles 2 or 3 times a week, plus dance twice a week, and I eat very healthfully. I am a vegetarian. What can I do to get rid of that flab?? I know I am probably way overstressing this, but I just want to kill myself for letting this happen, and I feel like I've tried everything to get rid of it! Please tell me what to do! ANY suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Oh, and P.S.: I am going on vacation in about a month and a half, so I have roughly 5 weeks to fix this. So if you have any ideas at all on how to get flat abs fast, please share! You're amazing!

If you take a look at the message boards you will see a june crunch challenge for 30 days. You can try it! Also you can give Jillian's dvds a shot. Right now im on 30 day shred and its pretty tough stuff. Or you can try her killer abs DVD to get o smaller and defined tummy.
  • If you have five weeks your best bet is to just keep exercising and dieting. Fat loss is the most important part here, not building abdominal muscles through crunches or what have you. These will give you definition, but if you aren't actively shedding some fat then your increased abs will build up underneath the fat stored above them making you even less defined until you finally get rid of some of that fat.

One other tip I could mention is to stay away from salty foods, alcohol, and soda/juice. While most of the time extra calories get distributed fairly evenly about the body, these foods can actually promote midsection gain.

Unfortunately you cannot spot reduce and the tummy is usually the last to go. Just keep eating at a deficit and it'll come off. Strength training will help too.

This may sound crazy but I would give insanity a try! It is really hard but very rewarding! I am on week 2 day 3 and I am already getting a line down my tummy where it is working so hard! It also really tones the rest of you so it is a fab workout all around. Just check that you can do it though after the injury you mentioned.

    Good luck!

Unfortunately the areas around your stomach, hips, and thighs are the lasts areas to drop the fat you are losing.
All you can do is make sure you are in a caloric deficit of 500 calories a day and eventually the fat will go. It won't be quick or easy I'm afraid, but if you have five weeks you may be able to lose about 10 pounds of fat.

    Good luck
