Getting rid of tricep flab

Hi all!
I would appreciate your help and advice on how to fix my tricep flab. I'm in a weight training and conditioning class this semester that meets twice a week, but I've decided to work out the rest of the week with a day or two of rest. We work mainly with free weights, if that helps, with 5 minutes of cardio. I'm going to London, England at the end of May and I have to wear dresses so I would like to wear the dresses without a sweater to hide my arms. Am I overreacting and I've got a lot of time?
Any suggestions or guidance is greatly appreciated!

How much are u hoping to lose? Unfortunatly weight training wont get rid of flab it will only tone the muscle underneath! Diet is all that will get rid of flab. Well and I suppose surgery! I know I have the same issues with my arms. Theres muscles under there I just need to reveal them!0

im in the UK, and it may actually be wishful thinking for you to be wearing a dress with no cardi, not because you cant tone your arms, but because it will probably be a bit cool here!!0

Ok, so how should I chnage my diet? I'm on a 1220 calorie diet right now if that helps.pearshapedmum wrote: »im in the UK, and it may actually be wishful thinking for you to be wearing a dress with no cardi, not because you cant tone your arms, but because it will probably be a bit cool here!!
Thank you, I appreciate your honesty that actually helps a lot0 -
You need to reduce your overall body fat. You can't target your arms, belly, etc0

You can't spot reduce your arms if the problem is fat and/or loose skin.
If your muscles are small and limp, you can do some work with weights to improve them. I do tricep extentions regularly and do notice less jiggle to my "bingo wings." There is still some looseness there, though, because genetics+gravity and also because I still have some fat to lose. But, praise newbie gains, AMEN, the muscles underneath the loose skin and fat have firmed up and have a small amount of definition now.0 -
so judging by your profile u don't have much left to lose. u are probably already within a healthy weight range unless your very short. i would not go any lower with my calories! your already kinda as low as in recommended. those last 10-15 can be the hardest! so patience i suppose u will get there! i would just focus on toning. i think with so little left to lose it will make a difference0

I tried a few different exercises to help firm up the back of my arms and I've found that push ups worked best for me. There are plenty of weighed exercises that target that area, but once I started doing push-ups I noticed the biggest change. I was at my target weight at the time (5'7" and 135lbs) so it wasn't a matter of losing more weight in my case.
Hope this helps.0 -
You might laugh at the tricep video but it is a good suggestion, in a way. Spot targeting fat loss is quite unsuccessful. Though, you can improve the shape of your triceps by building some muscle in that area. They might appear "flabby" but if you add some muscle it would look strong and fill in the flab.0

Hate to be a echo, but everyone is right. Your best bet is to continue the weight training to tone the muscle,. But if you really want to lose the flab, then the best way is to eat clean (not necessarily diet) and add in some cardio (if you are looking to lose weight). Looking lean in 80% diet and 20% exercise. You cannot out-work a bad diet of bad fats and bad carbs.
If you want to concentrate on toning the muscle in the triceps, I recommend tricep extensions, chair dips, push-ups, & skull crushers. Maybe do these exercises with your triceps once a week.0 -

Although that video was quite hilarious, the dude shows good exercises for the triceps. Don't worry, you won't get buff like him.0
