Unfortunately, there is no fast way to get rid of them.
They never disappear but do eventually fade to a silvery colour.0 -
embrace them0

Sorry to tell you, but they aren't going away - ever. They fade over time, but once you get them you've got them for life.
Don't waste your money on lotions and potions that claim to get rid of them.0 -
The only thing you can do is change the way you feel when you look at them. Now I've lost the weight that caused me to get them, I see them as a reminder to not let it happen again.0

You cant my bellly is destroyed of my girl but a spray tan helps alot x0

What these guys said, but may I also suggest you go full-bore the other direction and cover them all up with tribal tattoos? I promise nobody will notice the stretch marks at that point
Well, I'm hoping mine will fade as well anyhow.0 -

This is how I think too! I lost 120 lbs over 10 years ago and am getting close to finishing relosing 25 of those lbs. I have plenty of stretch marks The place I regret them the most is on my upper arms and shoulders. I had a middle school student ask me what the marks were when I was wearing a short sleeve shirt. I wear 3/4 sleeves to work but definitely wear short sleeves outside of work. I also have a few on the top of my shoulders:( I am ready to wear a workout tanktop to the gym(so much more comfortable to workout in when you are doing mat work) but I'm self conscious....0 -

Sunless tanner does help them look less pronounced.0

Cocoa butter helps to soften them out so they become less visible (although not getting rid of them) and it is cheap too!0

BIO-OIL nothing else works for me0

Not trying to hijack the thread but does anyone have tips to prevent them? My upper body muscles seem to be going through a growth spurt and the skin on my arms feels really tight (especially right after lifting). Obviously I'm happy that my muscles are growing quickly but I don't want to cause stretch marks on my arms because of it. I was thinking of using one of those stretch mark creams for pregnant women but I anyone else has any ideas that'd be great.0

Thanks for all the advice guys! I guess it is something we all have to deal with, but I'd rather have them and be healthy again then to be fat the rest of my life!0

the only way stretch marks can be removed is if they are surgically cut out.0

Pregnancy is fo sho a reason. But no tiger like instincts lol0

right after having my darling daughter, my husband sent me that photo. he could tell i was having a hard time with the weight gain and the postpartum.
unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do to make them go away. so love them and allow them to be a part of who you are because they're not going anywhere.0 -
But the fact you had been fat enough (or pregnant) to get stretch marks and then got fit is something to be proud of. Stretch marks on a fit body are a reminder of what you've accomplished.0 -

Laser treatment can burn off the red ones, but there is no other treatment aside from letting them fade to white.0

BIO-OIL nothing else works for me
I had the worst skin reaction with Bio-Oil! If you go this route, buy a small bottle first before you invest in the bigger bottles... Worst itching I've had since chicken pox!0 -
Mine too are specifically from pregnancy. I got a few on my breasts when I "developed" as a pre-teen but they aren't bd at all. The Longitudal map on my abdomen and back are my worst and they came from my son. The term "tiger" is often used to describe a very protective mother so this post makes perfect sense.
To the OP I have heard about derma rolling but the process is long and painful. I am considering giving it a go. It does not remove them, however, over time it takes away the stretchy feel and they will lose some definition and regain callogen.0 -
I have had mine since I was 14ish, maybe before then but never noticed. They really don't big me because I know so many people with them. Got even more when I was pregnant. I've found that time is about the only thing to get them to fade. If you tan it does help them to blend in (I just use tanning lotion, no way my bellys gunna be out, even in my own yard lol ). If you're really desperate I've found the ItWorks! Body gel stuff has helped a lot. Doesn't do anything it's advertised to do lol but it has helped make the stretch marks fade a wee bit faster than they have been. But seriously don't waste your money. Learn to love your body. So many people have stretch marks. It's really not that big of a deal!0

Mederma should make them fade at the very least.0

well this helped answer my question too. I did get some cream to help. I have heard that coco butter and other like pregnancy stretch mark cream help too, but they don't completely go away, the creams and lotion just help smooth them out and help them get less visible.0

Stretch marks are much like a run in a pair of pantyhose. You can apply all the nail polish you want but it's still ripped. Nothing you can do. I know people who would put a little cover up on them but that's about all.0

Stretch marks are scars. So you can't get rid of them. You can minimize the visual of them though.
