I have never had a lot of weight to lose. I have never been considered "overweight". I don't need to do this because my life depends on it...
I'm a 23 year old female, standing 5' 6" tall and weighing in at approximately 136, currently. I maintained a steady 125 throughout High School, and peaked at around 145. I understand that I'm in a perfectly healthy weight bracket. I'm fine with the fact that the little bit of fluff around my tummy/thigh area is "normal". Problem is, I want strength.
I have the utmost respect for women (and men alike) who start their weight loss journey with 20, 50, 100+ pounds to lose. I find them to be incredibly strong, dedicated individuals. But, skinny or not, all across the board there seems to be a common denominator that drives us all insane:
Those.last.few.pounds.
Whether you're looking to lose 10 pounds or 200, I guarantee those last few pounds will be the most difficult to shed. So what happens when those last 10 pounds are all you have to lose? I've given up on numbers on the scale-- muscle weighs more than fat, as they say. But the lack of notable progress, always winds up with me falling, once again, off the bandwagon. It seems no matter how hard I work towards shedding the only 10 pounds I could likely afford to lose, my body says "NO!" and holds onto it desperately in the form of fluffy fat in impossible to shape places.
Now, I'm in no way condoning the idea that these people are lucky to have been in a position where they needed (or felt the need) to lose a large amount of weight. But I see these transformation stories, and they absolutely blow me away. I get a sense of pride, and I wanna cheer for them-- "Go you! You did it!" What keeps us all driven towards reaching our fitness goals? Progress When you look in the mirror and see a complete transformation, it's unbelievably fulfilling...
My question is-- what keeps you going? Does anyone have any sort of magical cure or advice that will assist in keeping myself at it? (Other than the obvious-- "Quitters never win!" and all that...) Anyone who's been there/done that, or has similar goals and knows that "the struggle is real"? Would love to keep in touch and help motivate each other!

I agree I lost 40 lbs a few years ago kept it off for 2 years have gained 13 lbs and it seems impossible to get off. All I can say is I know what I felt like at goal weight so that's what keeps me motivated to keep going to get back there and once I do I hope to stay there. My other motivation is if I don't get a handle on it now I could easily gain back every single pound I worked so hard to shed. I also know what it felt like to be healthy!!0
