Macros confusion?

Ok - so I keep seeing everyone talking about Marcos - no clue what that is. I glanced at my MFP settings and I see that the default for me is like 50/20/30 My question is - is that a good goal for weight loss? Why would someone need to change the default? Sometimes this stuff gets so confusing! The further you dig - the more questions!

MFP sets them based on a estimation from your information . It's fats protein and carbs. You adjust to them what works best for you0
