Am I off base here with food and exercise plan?

hi all,
I'm about 5 -6weeks into my journey ( with 2 weeks off following death of my father).
Currently I am eating approx between 1550-1800 calories depending on my exercise. MFP has me set at 1560 ( to lose 1.5 lbs). I'm 5'9.5 and 198.6 and want to lose approx 30-40 lbs.
I'm definitely eating "cleaner". Drinking my H20. Taking omega, multi, vit b, and evening primrose supplement daily.
My macros are typically 25% carb/35% protein and 40% fat ( healthier fats like avocado/ coconut oil/eggs) give or take a few percent. Every 3rd day I up my carbs to 35-40% and then go down ( kinda carb cycling informally)
My workouts are weights ( following strong curves workout) 3x week; 30 min CX (core/cardio) and 20 min cardio= 50 min 3x week I'm thinking of adding yoga a couple x week too in the evening.
I'm down 6 lbs in 5-6 weeks...slow but do feel looser in clothes. I have taken measurements and will re-measure in a couple weeks.
Anyone have any advice? Does this plan look good? Should I change anything? I'm really determined this time and have taken advice to weigh//measure . My diary open but ignore Feb 8-23 ( grieving..
)
But this week or before that time was my plan. I'm really eager and keen to soak up any advice!
Thanks and have a feast day?

your doing really well! consistent losing is what u want. is this is something u can maintain long term that is really what matters. feast day....... i dont do it. i have a meal thats off my original plan now and then but not a whole day. a lb a week is perfect. u will notice over time some weeks will be more, some less. some not at all. don't get discouraged it will come off as long as u don't go over your calorie budget! all the best!0

Nope. That can work. Good luck. And sorry about your dad.

Really nitpicky - but what is the "evening primrose" supplement? Never heard of it, so you may be wasting some $ there.
Other than that, I can't see much I disagree with.

It's for women. Lol. Helps with pms symptoms. Probably why you haven't heard of it. Haha0 -
Firstly my condolences on the loss of your father
Sounds like a pretty solid plan and 1lb a week weight loss isn't slow, it's a nice healthy sustainable weight loss (plus factoring in the the two weeks that you went off plan you probably would have lost a little more). I wouldn't worry too much about tweaking things unless what you are doing stops working.
You may want to consider switching your goal to 1lb per week at some point in the not so distant future and eventually 0.5 lbs. The less you have to lose the slower you need to go to avoid losing excessive amounts of lean mass0
