Tell me I can do it...or be honest and tell me I'm nuts.

I am 226lbs (down from 254 on Christmas), 5'5". I've been working my behind off. I am currently in week 3 of the C25K program (although I've been walking like a mad woman as well as easy hikes, kettlebells, and half *kitten* effort at SL 5x5), completing each level successfully although I am always surprised that I was able to complete it at the end of each session lol.

I am doing a Ragnar Relay in April. Thats in 6 weeks. My legs are 4.3m, 4.1m, and 2.9m. I am also signed up for a 5K Saturday and another the following Saturday.

Based on my current loss rate, I expect to be close to 200lbs by April...can I do it? Can I actually run a Ragnar and not disappoint my team? I have no doubt they will be encouraging, but I'm worried I might need to walk more than they would hope for me to.

Or am I completely nuts for signing up for something, being so heavy and only 4 months into training?

I would be very, VERY wary of injuries in going from C25K, to running 11 miles in one day. (Even broken into three segments). I think you will be AWESOME if you are willing to walk some or most of it. Why would your team be upset? I haven't done a Ragnar, but from what I understand of relays, the point isn't to win, it's to hang out in the van, take silly group selfies, and cheer each other on. :)

Wow, I'm so impressed! I started in Dec 2014 at 265lbs and am currently 245lbs. You really have been working your a** off! I think you can do it but maybe talk to your team about your fears of slowing them down. It's important that they understand how you feel. My daughter-in-law is a marathoner and has done Ragnars. They do test your limits but are a lot of fun, too. Good luck!

Also, you mentioned SL 5X5 - are you in Salt Lake and doing the Wasatch Back Ragnar?

I think you will be around the 200 mark by April. It sounds like you are working hard and making progress.
In July 2012 I was 245 pounds and by March 2013 I was 160. So, that's a similar weight loss to what you're seeing. I was able to lose it and have maintained with watching my diet and exercise.

    Just keep believing in yourself.
I know you can do this.

The one thing I learned from c25k is that it's 100% mental. My body will absolutely do what my mind tells it to do.
So… can you do it? Yes. Absolutely if you decide you can and you will… you will.
However… that relay is a great deal more running than you will be used to. Be careful. Don't try to push too hard. You don't want to risk getting injured.
