If you are in a calorie deficit and never hungry, something isn't working properly. Hunger is a survival mechanism that helps keep our bodies in homeostasis. The system can be broken by being overweight or undereating for long periods of time. If I was never hungry I would wonder what was wrong with me!

I am in a 500 calorie deficit and am rarely (if ever) hungry. I am losing weight. My approach is working fine, thanks. Hunger is both psychological and physical, it's not always something our physical bodies use to get more calories.

As long as you are actually able to be hungry, then fine.

I can feel hungry and lose weight on 2400kcal, because that is a deficit for me. My body sends me hunger signals if I eat fewer calories than I need to maintain. My stomach can be full to bursting with foods of a low calorie density, but my body is not that easy to kid.

There are many reasons I don't advocate a low calorie diet, but I am also uncomfortable with people obsessively avoiding hunger while on a low calorie intake. I am also uncomfortable with the way people try to separate out physiological and psychological hunger, as many use it as an excuse to severely undereat. Full =/= not hungry
