Sick of seeing pictures of myself over weight

As the title says, thats one of the main causes of why I want to lose weight. When I was in high school I was extremely athletic and had quite a healthy diet (mainly because junkfood is ridiculously expensive growing up in New Zealand). I used to run, cycle, rock climb, swim, play badminton, hike up and down steep hills just because I felt like it and because it helped with my stress and I did it to avoid my home environment (I grew up in a domestic violence situation as a kid). I finally left home and my Mom thankfully got a divorce from said nasty person and suddenly I could relax for the first time in my life without looking over my shoulder to see if he was following me.
I went to college 500km away from my home town and I lived in a dorm, ate a lot of really good food and drank socially on the odd occaision, but my physical activity drastically went downhill as I was in lectures sitting or reading in the library all for about 12 hours of my day.
So I went from my high school weight of 55 kg to about 65 kg in my college freshman year. I was still walking up and down hills a lot as my college town boasts having the steepest streets in the world, but that didn't seem to stop the huge weight gain I was doing.
Im 26 now, married to a Canadian, living in Vancouver now weighing 85 kg (189 Ib).
While Im extremely thankful that with my husband I could wear a dirty sack and he would still think Im sexy, Im not overly happy with where my weight has gone. Whats even worse is that living in North America the temptation for cheap and easy fast food is huge here compared to New Zealand. And second of all while Im unemployed at the moment, my work (occupational therapy) is extremely strenuous and exhausting and Im concerned about how Im going to manage once Im working again.
See how we go..
