I have been working out and building my endurance on my elliptical for the past 2 months but only just recently got back on track with tracking my food. In fact I was overeating and I cut down a great deal since last Monday.

However, today while working out I just couldn't do the 30 minutes I usually do - I only did 20 minutes. I felt exhausted and my body just couldn't take it.

Do you think I should be worried or is it just a one off? I'm eating around 2,000 calories every day so I shouldn't be running out of energy.

Help? I feel really defeated.

Have you been having rest days?

And days where you do less work?

Do you weigh and measure all your food?

It's probably just a blip as your body adjust to less food but might be a sign if something else.

I think you need to focus on variety. Lifting weights improves your VO2Max. Sprints on the treadmill, running hills, long slow runs all help improve endurance. I guess if you only care about how long you can go on the treadmill try increasing and decreasing resistance, but variety is going to help your overall health more.

This. Everybody has a bad workout now and then. Brush yourself off and move on.

    Neurotic much?

    It's one workout. One.

The first of many more to come.

You won't, I promise you, *won't* be "on" every day for the rest of your life. There will definitely be more "off" days to come.

Get used to 'em and don't panic so much next time (or the time after that ( or the time after that ( or ... )))

It's one workout. I've gotten on an exercise bike, giving it light effort, and simply stepped off after five minutes thinking "NOPE"...numerous times.

Edit-I also have zero cardio goals.
