Lower kilojoule allocation every week?

Hi, been doing MFP for a month, goal of losing 0.5kg a week, but am actually losing more that way. For the second time MFP has automatically lowered my kj allocation - what's the rationale behind this? Thanks!

The more weight you lose, the fewer calories your body will burn, therefore the fewer you'll need to consume.

When you lose weight, your body requires less calories to maintain that new, lower weight. So in order to keep the weight loss rate constant, 0.5kg, you need to eat less calories than you did when you were heavier.

    My confession for the day...

One of my friends started a daily challenge on fitbit for steps.

I am currently in last place. I biked six miles today, but fitbit doesn't count those.

So I'm about to go to the gym and crank out six thousand steps or so and win the Damn thing at the eleventh hour.

Good for you! I've done this before lol. I was in a challenge with some friends, and instead of my usual Sunday swim, I went for an 8 mile walk to beat them. Those challenges bring out the competitive jerk in me.

It's too late now, but I hear if you slip the fitbit in your sock whilst you cycle...
