Want to get my body ready for the summer! Got to gain 28 pounds in three months - is it possible at all? Or am I being too ambitious

Well that's about 10lbs a month to lose by June.......................so yes, too ambitious. The body is REALLY good at energy storage. Not so good at giving it up.

Oh, gaining it is easy. Just overeat and have a big surplus. Granted that unless you're working out to add a little muscle along with that, it's going to be a lot of fat though.

10 pounds of weight per month isn't going to "tone up" easily unless you are really underweight right now. If you work out really hard you might be able to add 1-2 pounds per month in muscle but since you are female more likely around 1 pound per month. That will mean you are talking around 25 pounds of fat. Make sure you understand the implications because that's a lot of extra fat on your body and I can't see it being healthy adding so much fat in such a little time.
  • I need to add more fat then muscle due to my medical issues. but thank you for the advice
  • (I am 112 pounds at the moment)

Then good luck. Adding that piece of information is always helpful, btw.

Definitely, you will need to run about 1750 cals over your maintenance each day to achieve your goal. It's a lot but certainly possible. Pizza and ice cream? :D

Has the doctor approved of this bikini body diet? It seems silly to rush yourself like that. I can imagine you're going to find it hard gaining half a pound a week. Take small steps.

How tall are you? 112 to 130 is quite a big jump. Especially if you want it to be mostly fat.

I didn't think I needed a doctors approval to go on a diet?

You are the best person to answer that part since you know what your condition is. However, it probably wouldn't hurt so that he or she is aware of your plans and can make adjustments to any treatment you are receiving and to advise you on any potential issues.

Didn't you just say you have a medical issue? Seems like a doctor for advice would be a good place to start if you do have medical issues.

I don't think anyone has an issue with you wanting to gain, and 130 sounds like a healthy goal for your height. It's mostly the rate of gain you are suggesting is very fast, which may or may not be healthy. I don't have the experience to weigh in on that, so it may be worth discussing with a dietitian or a doctor.

Her goal is 140, not 130, which still seems healthy...I think she should go for it! 112 is too tiny for most people. OP, if you add me, I'll share some tips!

the answer to everything is 42.

    and ice cream.

But it appeared only one answer was required.

    So I provided only one.
