Anytime Fitness?

I am happy with the way my weight loss is going, but would like to develop more muscle, especially building some abs (I know I won't see them till I finish losing my weight, but . . .). I have an irregular schedule, so the idea of a place open 24 hours/day is appealing to me. What are people's opinions on Anytime Fitness for the person who wants to work out casually (as opposed to more body building type exercise)? I did Curves some years back and enjoyed it, but I'm not sure it would do for me what I want to do now.

I think it depends on the particular location and your particular goals. The closest Anytime Fitness to me is basically the same as Planet Fitness with the equipment they have so it's not really worth it to me but I have friends in other towns that go there and it's a fully functioning gym. It wouldn't hurt to take a tour of the one near you to see what it has to offer.

Okay, I have a 14-day free pass and was thinking of going by tomorrow afternoon to have a look. I live in a small town, so it's a choice between this and Curves for me.

Anytime Fitness is a franchise. As such, each gym is slightly different. For regular strength training, you should find what you want and need. Just make sure you take care when lifting heavy weights alone (e.g., use the safety rack for bench press and squats).
