100 lbs. Lost!

Howdy. It's been a few months since I've last made a thread on here, so I figured it was time to post an update and get some opinions on things. When my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last June, I made him a promise that I would get my life together. He passed away a month later, but I kept my promise to him and my weight is the main part of that. He was always worried about my weight, but when he talked about obesity, I always denied being obese. It was sheer denial at that point. He wasn't wrong. Here are my recorded weights. I started my efforts around the 20th of June, but didn't get a scale until the 29th. I don't know how much I weighed at my highest point. I still have around 50 lbs. left to lose.
June 29th, 2014: 318 lbs.
July 6th, 2014: 315 lbs.
July 13th, 2014: 311 lbs.
July 20th, 2014: 308 lbs.
July 27th, 2014: 303 lbs.
August 3rd, 2014: 298 lbs.
August 10th, 2014: 295 lbs.
August 17th, 2014: 291 lbs.
August 24th, 2014: 287 lbs.
August 31st, 2014: 284 lbs.
September 7th, 2014: 280 lbs.
September 14th, 2014: 276 lbs.
September 21st, 2014: 274 lbs.
September 28th, 2014: 272 lbs.

I often see people on here ask for a scale recommendation. I ultimately went with this one, as I wanted something accurate, but also large enough for me to stand on comfortably. It has worked very well for me.
As for what I did to lose weight, it was really all about calories. I didn't eat healthier. I didn't drop the pizza and go for the salad. I didn't cut out carbs. Most of the food that I eat has been processed to some extent. I know people talk about the difference between losing weight and getting healthy, but weight loss is the goal. And by all measures I'm certainly eating healthier than I used to.
Last summer, I walked. Or at least I tried to walk. It was harder for me back then because I ran out of energy very quickly. I started at 30 minutes, went up to 60 and then 90. But the heat of August eventually sent me indoors where I succumbed to laziness. Weight loss is mostly about diet anyway, so my exercise slipped at that point. I even made a thread at the time noting how my weight loss was the same when I stopped exercising. I eventually bought an elliptical and vowed to use it, and I have, but not for long and not as hard as I should. I still only use it fifteen minutes per day on Monday through Friday. I guess it's better than not using it at all.
I'm thinking about buying a bike. I haven't ridden since I was a kid, but they say you never forget. We have a large backyard, as we live in a rural area, but there are external factors that make me reluctant to do so. Riding a bike would probably beat walking, though. If I could find one that is big enough for me.
Sorry for the ramble. Hopefully my recorded results will give people motivation to continue their own journeys. I haven't plateaued yet, but there were were many weeks where the scale only went down a single pound. When compared to how quickly it came off in the beginning, it was disheartening at the time, but progress moves in fits and starts. It will happen if you keep at it.

You could start doing bodyweight exercises ...any kind of progressive weights would be great
